Cloth bums are the cutest!

We have been using cloth diapers for about 3 months now. So far we are loving it! Not only is it more economical, but it's better for the enviornment and so much more comfortable (who wants to wear paper underwear anyway?).

One baby will go through 6,000 disposable diapers in a 2.5 year period. That adds up to almost $2500 spent on diapers! Cloth diapering costs less in the long run, and less waste ends up in landfills.

Here are some facts about disposable diapers and their enviornmental impact;

-18 billion disposable diapers are thrown in landfills each year, taking as many as 500 years to decompose.
-Disposable diapers make up the third largest source of solid waste in landfills, after newspapers and food and beverage containers--a significant fact, considering they are a single product, used by a limited portion of the population.
- It takes upwards of 82,000 tons of plastic and 1.3 million tons of wood pulp, or a quarter-million trees, to manufacture the disposable diapers that cover the bottoms of 90 percent of the babies born in the US.
